Welcome to the first edition of Tool Time on Tuesday. Today we're going to start with the Crafter's Tool Kit (#104310) and look at the Anywhere Punches.
The Anywhere Punches are so named because you can place them anywhere and punch out a circle. They come in 1/8" and 3/16" sizes and have a groove on one side so you can easily remove the holes you've punched out. You can see the groove in the top photo of yesterday's post.
To operate, place a cutting pad on the tabletop or work surface to protect it. Set your project on top of it and decide where you're going to punch your hole. Hold the punch you've selected perpendicular to the project and keep it straight while you hammer. It usually only takes about 3 to 5 poundings before the hole is cut through, but you can hammer as long as you need to.
The Anywhere Punches will punch through chipboard, several layers of card stock, or other materials. I don't recommend using them on fabric, but they'll work on non-woven material such as felt.
