Beautiful You Gallery Card-1

One of my fellow paper crafters and reader, Rebecca Bolling, just received her Beautiful You Stamp Set (143004-Wood Mount; 143637-Clear Mount) and went to town.  I’m very glad she sent me photos of her work.  It’s gorgeous and I’m happy to share the card projects with you from my Guest Artist.

Today’s design features the lady with the hat image.  Rebecca stamped it with a black pad on a white top layer, then again on a piece of yellow polka dot paper.  She cut out the hat and dress and adhered them over the image on the white layer.

The embellishments include silk and paper flowers that are colored to match the image and the trims.  The rhinestone embellishments look like they are colored, too.  You can do this with an ink refill and alcohol mixture, then brush the color over the rhinestones.

White and yellow flower trim is overlaid on a wide piece of yellow crocheted trim.  This is a perfect use of spare trim scraps.  You can save your scraps from sewing projects, or buy a sack of assorted scraps at a fabric store.

The color scheme is Monochromatic – black, white and yellow.  The combination is elegant and dramatic with the yellow embellishments softening the effect.  This color combination is good for any occasion and will also go very well on scrapbook pages.

  1. What yellow did you use.

    • The artist didn’t specify, but Daffodil Delight from Stampin’ Up! is closest. The dotted pattern in the Brights Designer Series Paper Stack (138434-retiring 5/31/17) will work even though the dots are smaller.
