Calypso Coral Birthday Card - Visit http://www.3amstamper.com

I decided to use Calypso Coral with another pattern from the Botanical Gardens Designer Series Paper, which is my favorite DSP pack in the 2016 Occasions Catalog. Calypso Coral is not one of the colors used, but it is from the Red-Orange/Orange-Red Color Group, as is Cajun Craze which IS one of the listed colors. I also decided I needed to make a celebration card (it says Happy Birthday on the inside) using the Party Wishes Stamp Set image, “A party without CAKE is just a meeting.” (What a great sentiment!!)

The Complement to Calypso Coral comes from the Blue-Green/Green-Blue Color Group. Mint Macaron is a listed color and is from the Complementary group. I’ve used it as a straight Complement in my article, Calypso Coral in a Quick & Easy Thank You Card. This time, I’ve added Hello Honey, from the Yellow-Orange/Orange-Yellow Color Group, into the mix.

Hello Honey is a Wide-Angle Analogous color to Calypso Coral. I talked about this in my article, Pear Pizzazz and a Wide-Angle Analogous Scheme, with members of the Yellow-Green/Green-Yellow and Blue Color Groups. The Color Chart shows Red-Orange/Orange-Red, Orange and Yellow-Orange/Orange-Yellow side by side. We’d skip over the Orange to make a Wide-Angle Analogous scheme. But…

…The Complementary color to Calypso Coral, Mint Macaron, also plays a part. I developed the Complementary-Analogous Color Scheme term for a Christmas Card. The side-by-side colors were Red and Red-Violet with no skips. Since Complementary-Wide-Angle Analogous Color Scheme is way cumbersome, let’s just call it Complementary Plus! This term can cover both Complementary-Wide-Angle Analogous and Complementary-Analogous color schemes, don’t you think?

Now that I’ve overwhelmed you with a ton of links to check out, why don’t you just grab a piece of Designer Series Paper and relax by making a card or a page? The Stampin’ Up!® colors are listed on the DSP package and in the catalogs. Use card stock in any one or two of those and you’re good to go.

This color combination is good for a lot of different celebrations: Birthday, Anniversary, Retirement, Bridal or Baby Shower; as well as Thank You, Hello, Friendship, etc.. I wouldn’t use it for Sympathy, but I certainly would for Get Well Soon and Cheer Up. Remember scrapbook pages in the same colors!
