Carousel Horse Smiles Card - Visit http://www.3amstamper.com

I wanted to use the Carousel Horse on a card and continue with my exploration of the Cupcakes & Carousels Designer Series Paper Stack patterns and combinations.  I also decided I wanted to use Daffodil Delight instead of the So Saffron listed as a coordinate on the DSP Stack cover.  I went over the Colors included as Coordinates in my article, Cupcake Ferris Wheel Card, so click there to see the full details.

Bermuda Bay is a member of the Brights Collection as well as being the Blue-Green Color Group HueDaffodil Delight is the Hue of the Yellow Color Group and is also a member of the Brights Collection.  I felt like being bright today and celebrating the sun coming out, so I am using the two together, along with Island Indigo, the Shade from the Blue-Green Color Group.  The two Color Groups create two points on a Tetradic Color Scheme, so I’m calling this Color Combination Semi-Tetradic.  You never know, if it fits in the DSP Stack patterns, I may come back with a full Tetradic Color Scheme that includes Bermuda Bay and Daffodil Delight with the other two colors.

I used the retired Daffodil Delight 5/8” Satin Ribbon to create the yellow stripe behind the Bermuda Bay 1/8” Stitched Ribbon.  You can replicate this by tinting the Gold 5/8” Satin Ribbon with the Daffodil Delight Classic Ink Refill and some alcohol.  You may want to bleach the Gold Ribbon a little first.  Let it dry thoroughly before you start tinting.

Fast Fuse Adhesive makes a great anchor for the Satin Ribbon.  Cut the Ribbon about 2” longer than the card front layer and wrap it around to the back.  Run strips of the Adhesive along both sides so you get a firm hold.  The Silicone Craft Sheet is handy to use when you apply the Fast Fuse to the Ribbon so that nothing sticks to your work surface.

I tied a bow with the 1/8” Ribbon and let one end trail across the card front.  The easiest way to hold the narrower Ribbon and place its trailing end is with Glue Dots.  You’ll need to fold the Glue Dot in half so it doesn’t show around the Ribbon.
