Color Combination of the Week for 11/17/2016
This week’s Color Combination features Mint Macaron and Emerald Envy. I like to try different color combinations for Holiday cards. There is a spool of Mint Macaron Sheer Linen Ribbon on my shelf that I haven’t used yet, so this inspired me to combine it with Emerald Envy and Silver Foil to make a Christmas card.
Mint Macaron is a Tint in the Green-Blue Color Group. Emerald Envy is the Hue of the Green Color Group, which is right next door. This makes the Color Combination Analogous, since Silver is a Neutral. Emerald Envy has a teeny touch more Blue in its composition, which makes it more of a match to Mint Macaron. The pure Hues in Secondary Colors are composed of 50% each of the two Primary Colors that combine to make them. In Emerald Envy’s case, I’d say it is 50.5% Blue and 49.5% Yellow.
The Color Combination is also good for Celebrations, especially Birthdays for someone who’s favorite color is Green, Saint Patrick’s Day, Spring, Easter, Summer, Thank You and Get Well card and page themes.
