Confession: Box for the Cotton Paper Flower
I have to make a confession. This is the box I’d originally planned to use with the Cotton Paper Flower I talked about earlier this week. Fortunately, the Bouquet Bigz™ L Die makes a lot of different sizes of flowers, especially when you cut 8 sheets at a time! I had plenty to make a smaller flower for the box from the Hamburger Box Bigz™ XL Die, which is so cute!
I chose the Shine On Specialty Designer Series Paper for the box itself. The pattern with silver jewels randomly placed seemed good to use. The Iced Rhinestone Embellishments dressed it up well and created a sparkly center for the smaller Cotton Paper flower.
The flower-making how-to is laid out in the Cotton Paper Flower article. I changed up a bit for this flower, because I was worried about it sticking to the box. I made the petals by overlapping the bases and pinching them together with a Glue Dot. Then, I started with the 5-petal flower in Cucumber Crush for the “leaves” and glued it to the center of the box lid with the Fine-Tip Glue Pen. I laid down a ring of glue on the “leaves” and lined up the larger Watermelon Wonder petals with the gaps between them and pressed with a Bone Folder to glue them down. I repeated with the smaller Crushed Curry petals, overlapping them with the breaks between the Watermelon Wonder petals.
To finish off the flower, I glued a Crushed Curry 5-petal flower for the center, then added a large Iced Rhinestone. This tied the Iced Rhinestones around the edge of the top together. This box is perfect to hold a Celebration surprise!
