December Birthday Card with Garden Green
I mentioned in my article about Traditional Christmas Colors that I would not recommend using Red and Green for a Birthday card, especially for a December birthday. So many December birthday people tend to want their special day to be distinguished from the holiday – and rightly so! Therefore, I decided to use a Wide-Angle Analogous Color Scheme for my Garden Green birthday card. The predominant colors are Garden Green from the Green-Yellow Color Group, Pumpkin Pie from the Orange Color Group and Daffodil Delight from the Yellow Color Group.
The pattern from the Cherry On Top Designer Series Paper Stack does not include any of these colors. That doesn’t matter, because Stampin’ Up!® mixes colors that coordinate with each other no matter what the “colorists” say! The pattern I picked to denote Birthday includes Crushed Curry from the Yellow-Orange Color Group, Cucumber Crush from the Green-Yellow Color Group, Watermelon Wonder from the Red-Orange Color Group and Pool Party from the Blue-Green Color Group. So the Designer Series Paper print is also Wide-Angle Analogous!
This color combination does not suggest Christmas in any way, so it’s perfect for December Birthdays! In addition to Birthdays, the combo works well for Parties and other Celebrations such as Promotions and Retirement. Weddings and Bridal showers would depend on the bride’s colors. Although babies like bright colors, this combination probably would work better for Welcome Baby parties, rather than Baby Showers. The color scheme is also a natural for a Cheer Up or Get Well Soon card, and, of course, Friendship.
