Elegant Eggplant Valentine
Happy Valentine’s Day!
I am very fond of using non-traditional colors for holiday cards, as you know if you’ve been reading me a while. For Valentine’s Day, I picked an Analogous Color Scheme by ignoring the Tertiary Colors and compacting the Color Wheel back to Primary and Secondary colors.
Analogous Schemes are made with colors that are side by side on the wheel. Colorists use three side-by-side color groups, but I usually only use two. Elegant Eggplant is the Shade of the Violet Color Group and Real Red, the Hue, and Pink Pirouette, the Tint, are colors of the Red Color Group.
I planned for two large hearts layered on a Tea Lace Paper Doily, with a smaller heart stamped with the phrase. Since the Red Glimmer Paper heart had to be large enough to layer under the Pink Pirouette Bloomin’ Heart die-cut, I stamped the phrase on a Whisper White smaller heart with the Elegant Eggplant pad over the Bloomin’ Love heart image stamped with the Pink Pirouette pad.
