Flirty Flamingo in a Tropical Tetrad Color Scheme
I wanted to use Flirty Flamingo in a Tetrad Color Scheme and make it a tropical design featuring the flamingo image from the Pop of Paradise Stamp Set. I went wild with the Botanical Builder Framelits™ Dies and created a lush tropical bower of flowers, with the flamingo peeking through. The die-cuts are highlighted with the Botanical Blooms Stamp Set images, but you can’t see some of the leaves. It still came out very tropical and lush!
Flirty Flamingo is a Tint in the Red-Orange/Orange-Red Color Group. It forms a Tetrad Color Scheme with members of the Green-Blue/Blue-Green, Red-Violet/Violet-Red and Green-Yellow/Yellow-Green Color Groups. I combined the Split Tertiary Groups into consolidated Tertiary Groups so I could pick the most tropical combination.
You have Flirty Flamingo with Rich Razzleberry from the Red-Violet Color Group, Old Olive and Pear Pizzazz from the Yellow-Green Color Group and Tempting Turquoise and Mint Macarón from the Blue-Green Color Group. This combination needed something to make it more tropical, so I accented with Crushed Curry circles from the Regals Enamel Shapes to make it a Tetrad-Plus Color Scheme. The Crushed Curry flower centers, from the Yellow-Orange Color Group, add more warmth and tropical ambience than White would.
I painted the Mint Macarón frond, which lies on the diagonal underneath everything, with a Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush. I had excess adhesive showing, so I used the good, trusty old Adhesive Remover to get rid of it. However, the Adhesive Remover also erases the glitter paint, so I had to touch up. Wink of Stella dries pretty quickly, so it isn’t a big deal. Tip: use the side of the brush tip to paint large areas. The point is great for fine lines.
If this combination doesn’t say “Party!!”, I don’t know what does! Use it for cards and pages with Birthday, Anniversary, Retirement, Bon Voyage, Thank You, Friendship and Good Luck themes. Don’t forget Luaus!
