Birthday Gift Card Envelope - Viit http;//

As I mentioned in my post last week, you can make Gift Card Envelopes from card stock. The Gift Card Envelope & Trims Thinlits™ Dies die-cut the envelope, complete with scoring lines, equally as well as paper. These envelopes can stand alone, in addition to being attached to greeting cards. You can easily make a batch of them to have on hand.

The card stock envelopes would be sturdy enough to close with a Velcro® dot if you want them reusable. I tried Velcro on a Designer Series Paper Gift Card Envelope, but it was too easy to tear off. The Belly Band that slides on and off works just as well to make a reusable envelope. I wrapped an 8” x 1-1/2” strip around the Gift Card Envelope and adhered it together so it was slightly loose. I also like to cover the join with some kind of label or image. The 8” x 1-1/2” belly band works very well for the size of the envelope.

If you like the layered look for your Gift Card Envelopes, die-cut one from card stock and one from a coordinating patterned paper. Crease all the folds, then open out the envelopes. Trim each section of the paper envelope by 1/8” all the way around. Then layer each section on the card stock envelope.

I layered a 1/1-4” x 8” strip of paper around the belly band after the card stock band was adhered together. This allows enough give for the layering. If you layer first, you run the risk of the paper puckering or detaching.

The flat design of the embellishment on the belly band allows you to stack or file a whole batch of gift card holders. That way, you’re ready to pop in a gift card and give or send your gift at a moment’s notice!
