Pink Pirouette Faux Stained Glass Birthday Card - Visit http://www.3amstamper.com

I confess, this is a case of manipulating the color wheel to fit the color combination you chose. You can do this with Stampin’ Up!® colors because they all work together. Besides, the Main Color and its Contrast and Accent colors don’t have to be in the order the traditional color wheel suggests. I used a Split Complementary Color Scheme with the key color of Yellow-Green on the wheel, but my Main Color is Pink Pirouette from the Red Color Group, the Contrast Color is Wisteria Wonder from the Violet Color Group and the Accent Color is Pear Pizzazz from the Green-Yellow/Yellow-Green Color Group.

I wanted to do a faux stained glass effect, so I stamped the large rose image from the Rose Wonder Stamp Set with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad on the front of a piece of Vellum Card Stock. I colored the back with Stampin’ Write Markers. When I was ready, I attached the Vellum layer to the Pink Pirouette layer with a Glue Dot in the center of the rose image, then punched 1/16” holes in the corners. I used Mini Brads to fasten the corners, then flattened them and covered them with Pink Pirouette Candy Dots brushed with the Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush. The Iced Rhinestone Embellishment covered up the Glue Dot, which actually did not show through the Vellum Card Stock.

Pink Pirouette Rose Birthday Card - Visit http://www.3amstamper.comI tried a vertical card as well as the horizontal card for the greeting placement. The vertical card didn’t work as well. I misjudged the placement, so a lot of the greeting is covered up. You can see in the small photo. The next time I want to make this card vertically, I will stamp the rose image on the Pink Pirouette layer with the VersaMark Pad so I have a way to place the greeting in its frame. The frame around the greeting works better to let the greeting show through the Vellum.

This combination works well for cards and pages with Wedding, Bridal or Baby Shower, Birthday, Thank You, and any other occasion calling for soft pastels in its theme.
