Real Life Color Coach Color of the Week: Elegant Eggplant
Elegant Eggplant is the Shade of the Violet Color Group. Fortunately, its companion is the Tint, Wisteria Wonder. I’ve talked about this color group before in Wisteria Wonder’s Color of the Week article. The two of them provide great contrast to each other in a Monochromatic Color Scheme.
Today I added a little extra contrast with the Neutral, Smoky Slate. I knew I wanted to add a strip of Elegant Eggplant behind the Wisteria Wonder ribbon on the base of the card front, so I picked Smoky Slate to separate the card front from the card base.
I decided to make this design because the stamp set, Butterfly Basics, is one of the Weekly Deals from Stampin’ Up!® this week in its Wood-Mount form. The Weekly Deals are usually offered at a 25% savings. The Stamp Set also comes in Clear-Mount and Photopolymer, which are not included in the special. However, they all come bundled with the Butterflies Thinlits™ Dies at a 15% savings. Since I didn’t use the Thinlits in the project, I’m not listing the Bundle. But I wanted you to know!
The Elegant Eggplant Monochromatic Color combination is good for All Occasions. This includes Birthday, Wedding, Thank You, Sympathy, and whatever else you can come up with. I’m using the Elegant Eggplant Monochromatic Colors for a wedding photo album. The card design today is multi-purpose. I suggest putting a 5-1/4” x 4” piece of Smoky Slate card stock on the inside so you can write a message.
