Real Life Color Coach Color of the Week: Island Indigo
Island Indigo is the Shade of the Green-Blue Color Group and has four companions to help it make a great Monochromatic Color Scheme! I picked Pool Party, one of the Tints in the group, because it’s the palest and the brightest in intensity. High contrast – that’s the ticket!! That’s my story – never mind that it’s one of my favorite colors!!
I’ve also been on a butterfly kick – butterflies remind me of Spring and Summer and parties! This card is a Cheery Thinking of You card. The other members of the Green-Blue Color Group would also coordinate in a Monochromatic Color Scheme, but would be more subdued. Bermuda Bay is the Hue and exception – it’s high intensity, but a lower contrast. When you want a Monochromatic card or page with less exuberance, pair Island Indigo with any of the other group members.
This specific combination (Island Indigo and Pool Party) is great for Birthday, Party, Celebration, Friendship and All Occasion cards and pages. I would hesitate to use it for Sympathy, unless you know the person really well. I’d use Mint Macaron or Marina Mist, which are more muted, with Island Indigo for the serious occasions.
