Real Life Color Coach Color of the Week: Pumpkin Pie
You know by now that I like to introduce the Real Life Color Coach Color of the Week with a Monochromatic Color Scheme. I last mentioned this in my Calypso Coral Color of the Week article. This week’s color is Pumpkin Pie and is the sole member of the Orange Color Group, being a Tone. Normally, I would use a Neutral for the contrast color, but I wasn’t thrilled with how they looked for my middle grandson’s, David the dinosaur lover’s, birthday card. Besides, David adores Orange, including Red-Orange and Yellow-Orange. Therefore, playing the part of a Neutral in this combination is Cajun Craze, from the Red-Orange/Orange-Red Color Group!
Pumpkin Pie and Cajun Craze are an Analogous Color Scheme. Analogous combinations can be very similar to Monochromatic Color Schemes, and often have the same harmonious effect. Cajun Craze enhances the Orange of Pumpkin Pie and provides a nice contrast.
This combination always makes me feel cheerful. It’s very good for Birthday, Party and Orange-Lover’s cards, along with Get Well and Cheer Up cards.
