Real Life Color Coach Color of the Week: Soft Sky
Soft Sky is the Tint in the Blue-Green Color Group, which includes the Hue, Tempting Turquoise and the Tone, Marina Mist. I love Soft Sky for snowflake cards, but since I didn’t feature this color until it’s almost Spring, I made a butterfly card.
The Monochromatic Color Scheme for Soft Sky includes Tempting Turquoise and Whisper White for contrast. Soft Sky is a lovely pastel, but it gets a little lost with the lacy overlay. I backed the under wings with Tempting Turquoise to help the butterfly stand out. You could use Soft Sky and Whisper White alone, but the card or page would be low-contrast – very pastel! This is great for in-person projects, but the combination doesn’t photograph all that well, so I added Tempting Turquoise.
This combination is great for Birthday, Wedding, Baby, Thank You, Friendship and almost any other celebration. The Tempting Turquoise sets a bright tone. For more sober occasions, such as Sympathy, I recommend replacing Tempting Turquoise with Marina Mist.
By the way, you may notice that I used Soft Sky Enamel Dots on the butterfly. You can see how to make them in my article, How To Turn Candy Dots Into Enamel Dots.
