Sparkle and Shine, Valentine
The Baker’s Box Thinlits™ Dies are part of the Weekly Deals this week, so that inspired me to make a Valentine Treat Box! The Thinlits include a cute little heart that would cut through two layers of Glimmer Paper. I had double-sided Glimmer Paper (Red and Silver) that I’d used for a 12 Weeks of Christmas Project, but only mentioned it here in my article, How to Remove Glitter from Your Big Shot™ Dies. I die-cut the heart twice and attached it to both sides of the Clothespin. The Red side faces out and the Silver side faces the back.
You can cut both pieces of the box from one 6” x 12” piece of card stock. Use the Big Shot™ Magnetic Platform to hold the dies in place and cut them as close to the edge as possible. If your paper or card stock is uni-directional, you may need to use two 6” x 6-1/2” pieces instead. There’s just a smidge of room needed to place the dies in the same direction, but it is enough to have you run out of room if you can’t overlap the dies. I gave some more tips in my article, “Dinosaur Baker’s Box in Cheerful Melon Mambo Triad”.
I assemble the box with the Tear & Tape Adhesive on the side flaps. I don’t tend to adhere the bottom flaps together because I like boxes you can store flat. However, if the contents are heavy, the bottom will come open. A bit of masking or painter’s tape would hold it closed and still let you remove the tape to store the box. If you’re sending filled boxes home with someone, adhere the bottom flaps.
