Sweet Sugarplum Fiesta Triad Card
Continuing with Sweet Sugarplum, the Tint of the Violet-Red/Red-Violet Color Group, as the Real Life Color Coach’s Color of the Week, I wanted to show you a Triadic Color Scheme. I chose the Birthday Fiesta Stamp Set to illustrate the Triadic Combination of Sweet Sugarplum, Pool Party from the Green-Blue/Blue-Green Color Group and So Saffron from the Yellow-Orange Color Group.
I always need Birthday cards, and I was aiming for a true Triad Color Scheme. However, the Split Tertiary Color Groups needed to be recombined so the Triad would work.
I sort of “plussed” the color scheme with a background from the Festive Birthday Designer Series Paper selection of patterns. The pattern includes Emerald Envy, from the Green Color Group, in the cactus plants and a washed Tempting Turquoise, from the Blue-Green Color Group, field. The tiny dots of Crushed Curry from the Yellow-Orange Color Group and Pumpkin Pie from the Orange Color Group really don’t show up. Tempting Turquoise and Crushed Curry fit into the Triadic Colors, but Emerald Envy and Pumpkin Pie are outside the Triad and would make the combination a “Plus”. But since I don’t want to call this color scheme Triad Plus, I’m ignoring them.
Sweet Sugarplum, Pool Party and So Saffron are all Tints of their respective Color Groups. This gives a soft effect because the colors are all the same intensity. The combination is good for Baby and Wedding as well as Birthday, Friendship, Thank You and general Summer (like pool party and barbecue) cards and pages.
