Traditional Christmas Colors: Garden Green & Real Red
Garden Green, from the Green Color Group, has a Complementary Color in Real Red, the Hue from the Red Color Group. These two make the traditional Christmas color combination of Red and Green.
Although Garden Green is a Tone, it isn’t as muted as some colors and can coordinate well with the brightness of Real Red. The Designer Series Paper pattern I used contains all Neutrals with touches of Real Red and an Analogous Green-Yellow Shade, Mossy Meadow. Mossy Meadow harmonizes with Garden Green, but there’s not enough of it to interfere with the combination. The Complementary Color Scheme dominates.
The Garden Green and Real Red combination is good for Christmas Cards, Holiday Thank You Cards and Invitations, and Gift Tags. I would not recommend it for Birthday Cards as many December birthday people tend to want their special day to be distinguished from the holiday – and rightly so!
Note that I’ve included both versions of the stamp set, but you only need to use one. ;D
